About 13 years ago I first created the discipline of “Joint Mobility”, not because I was compensating for the rigors of winning international martial arts championships, though my joint mobility program absolutely helped me deal with the results of doing so: a broken arm, a broken neck, a cracked skull, ruptured discs in my lower back, a broken and dislocated rib, a dislocated jaw (and every finger and toe), as well as a laundry list of aches, pains, soreness and toxic chemicals from the brutal nature of fighting around the globe with the world’s elite athletes.
No, the reason that I created joint mobility was because unlike the world-class athletes I competed against, I was born in the shallow end of the gene pool, a “delicate” yet obese kid who faced terrible pain and injuries as a result of a joint disease which doctors could only describe as osteochondrosis. And, also because of my learning disabilities, I couldn’t merely watch someone perform a skill and then repeat it. I wasn’t part of those elite 2% of athletes that just excelled. I was the last picked in dodge ball and the first hit (if you didn’t “lead” me as much when throwing.)
Creating the art and science of joint mobility allowed me to create a three-dimensional kinesthetic field where even someone of my genetic challenges could acquire skills at such an extremely rapid rate that now, nearly 40 years young, people try and dismiss my ability to instantly internalize a new skill because they assume that I’m one of those 2% of naturally gifted athletes! Can you believe that?! I can’t!
Today, because so many athletes have become seduced by the unhealthy fitness practices, they suffer the same issues that I faced as a child. And because of the accelerated aging which happens from sitting behind the desk for 8 hours a day, or from decades of sedentary lack of activity, millions now face the challenges that I overcame when I was a teenager. I can show you how I surpassed those hurdles, because my path to mobility mastery left a trail of bread crumbs that even the greatest motor moron (like I) was can follow it with 100% consistently repeatable success!
If you’re not daily moving each joint in a certain way, you’re literally commit suicide just a little bit each day. You can have the best nutrition in the world, but if you’re not moving each joint in a certain way, then that nutrition isn’t being shipped to the tissues that are literally starved for it. Yes, literally. Even if you skip only one joint, and it remains compressed, without that nutritive flow, your joints are slowly dying.
The pain, aches, trauma, as well as fear and anxiety which happens from you have your mobility slowly eroded from you every day takes a lot of courage to turn and face. But you’re not facing it alone. I’ve been there and overcame that! Even the most elite athlete when facing what seems like a disabling injury can feel like his/her life is over. And as we age, it’s mobility… FREEDOM… which we pine for most when we lose it.
But you can reclaim that Freedom even if you’re 50, 60, 70, 80+!
